Pravin Masalewale – a company founded by Shri. Hukmichand Chordia and Sou. Kamalbai Chordia in 1962 on a very small scale for making quality masala (Spices) has since tremendously expanded and grown during last 50 years.  Now it caters to the needs of lakhs of its customers not only in Maharashtra but to almost all nearing states as also exports its products.  It is now a 300 Crore Company looked after by the third generation of Chordia family.

During all these years Chordia family has confined not only to its business,  but it has also extended its helping hand for promotion of social cause and to further this process the founder of Pravin Masalewale thought it appropriate to establish a trust.  Trust under it's fold has undertaken various social activities prominently thereof are promoting sports among the youngsters, yoga among the new generation and encouragement for first generation women entrepreneurs.  Trust named “PRAVIN MASALEWALE CHARITABLE TRUST” was floated in 2001.  Trust instituted Award in the name of “UDYOG JANANI KAMAL PURSKAR” for first generation women entrepreneur engaged particularly in industrial activity or service industry.  In 2005 Trust decided to institute a special award for Self Help Groups.

The award is in the form of Cash prize of Rs.10,000/- a Trophy and Letter of Appreciation.  Trust has also been giving a special cash award of Rs.5,000/- to Mahila Bachat Gat (Self help group) for the last 6 years.
